Good Evening,
I have been investigating Internet facilities for vampire and demon research and a colleague suggested starting an on-line journal. I hope that this will permit me to network with contacts who may be of assistance.
(*Removes and polishes glasses*It really was inconsiderate of Willow to leave me alone with this electronic diary without ascertaining whether I was proficient in its use. However, even demons seem able to cope with the things, so surely a Watcher of my experience should learn quickly. *Sighs*. It's partly because there's no ...artistry... to computers, no sensation of pen gliding over paper...
It was actually a demon who suggested that I should join an lj Community, and I am told that it is customary to make an introductory post. That does present difficulties. I have been a Watcher for some years, but much of the work is confidential, and it could lead to problems were I to write of it too freely.
I also have considerable experience as a School Librarian - that work can be extremely dangerous: it can lead to contact with unusual life-forms, strange beliefs and mind-altering substances,. I had believed that this is because a school situated on a Hellmouth faces unusual problems, but according to one of the supply teachers comparable difficulties can arise anywhere.
I have been seriously considering writing a book about my experiences in Sunnydale High School.
Rupert Giles.

practice with my journal ...
